About Susan

I’m proud to offer clients access to my expertise in organizational strategy, digital content, revenue development, strategic partnerships, branding, marketing, messaging, media relations and more. Count on me to frame your message and deliver it to the the public, press, elected officials and internal stakeholders in ways that drive empathy, understanding and action.

I have a passion for strengthening how teams and organizations leverage communications to maximize their impact. Recently, I rebuilt the national communications and marketing function for LeadingAge, the national association of nonprofit aging services—establishing them as a national leader in the media and across the sector, driving revenue recovery after COVID, and winning unprecedented member support in our role as “the trusted voice in aging.”

I have an entrepreneurial mindset and uncover innovative approaches to solve problems. In 2018, I founded Stria, a media company serving the longevity market and consultant for high-impact organizations. And, as Publisher and Managing Director of Next Avenue, I served over 45 million people, secured millions of dollars in revenue and financial support, and brokered collaborations with leading media outlets, businesses and nonprofits. I bring my deep understanding of 50+ consumers and expertise in media to help shape how organizations, businesses and communities navigate the longevity economy. 

Based out of Washington, DC, I’ve worked with organizations all over the country, including PBS, WNYC, AARP, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, the New York City government, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the Foundation Center, Caring Across Generations, the Eisner Foundation, Bank of America/Merrill Lynch, the Milken Institute Center for the Future of Aging, GreatCall/BestBuy, Encore.org, Twin Cities Public Television, the New School in New York, and other high-impact organizations.
